Software Release 03.11.05-1
Octel 250.

I have 3 area codes out here 602,623,480 which are all local calling. The only one that I see in the Octel is 602.
In Mail box ext 9.1 Subscriber Ext the number is 602516XXXX
The 9.1 Attendent destination is set as 623936xxxx, but when I press 0 the call is looked at as a longdistance call. If I put a 10 digit number in there it will put a 1 in front of it. If it is 7 digit and is a 602 area code it makes the call. I have changed the 6.1 second page A 1 is needed to make local and long distance calls but it never works. The only thing I have not found out how to change is changing local from 7 to 10 digits...

You need to change the local calls to a y for 10 digit and say no to the dial a 1. then in menu 5 just add the other area codes in under Local Area Code Restriction Table

Ok i changed it and it still didnt work. I cant beleive I missed the 1 to 2...It is still treating the call as a long distance call. It throws a 1 in front of it...

Just a thought but what if you try this. In the mailbox tell it the att destination is 1 and the att schedule is 1 and put the opr number in attn schedule 1 as attn number 1 and see if it goes.

Also just check your menu 6 to make sure it matches the below example

Also not to sound stupid but I see your on PBX call is set to dial a 9. If this is on a plexar or Centrex system do you have to dial 9 to get to a sta from it's own plexar or Centrex system?

Do you mean where I put P9N I changed it to just N. To be honest with you I have no idea other than we have Taqua 7000 hooked up to this Octel 250. An Adtran with 20 trunks for the main number to the VM. No need to dial a 9 or anything else that I can see. Just as testing purposes I set my self up with a VM and it just so happens that my VM with 10 digits has the same area code as my cell so all I put in is 7 digits and it worked which was cool to me. No we are adding more VMs for customers and I would like that feature to work for everyone. Maybe in the Local area codes it didnt take the new area codes I dont see them.

the leading digits are after the area code is dialed not the area code. You would need to add the 623 in as an area code.

I have also seen some patch info on this problem but it is old and from rel 2 software.
