Hi,
Anyone know a way to get the IBM machine type/model number/feature code for various parts through AIX? For example: I want to know what model ethernet adapter is installed. Using lscfg -vl ent0 gets me the VPD but no FC5701.

tia.

Post the output of the lscfg -vl ent0 and you'll stand a good chance of finding out.

The question should be "How to get the feaature code" not "machine type and model". The card should have a sticker on the back with the card type on it. The "machine type and model" would relate to the whole server, not a bit of it.
