HI,
I'm using IDCS4 on windows 7
please see this image for reference:

Recently, I've lost my IDCS4 icons on my .indd files in my windows explorer. The files open up without any problem. But I would like to have the icons back because it easier to visually know which files are Indesign. I've tried different methods but no success. Other Adobe file such as Photoshop show icons.

Thank you for your input. Nikky

Reporting on one solution: one thing I did is just RESTARTED my computer. And everything "re-linked"...I know maybe not the 'final' answer but it worked. So I'm sure for someone out there, they can just restart the computer. Nikky

Right click on a Indesign document icon.

In the flyout menu you see properties

In the new window you will see the optio "Open with" there you choose InDesign as the primary software.

Normally your Icons will be back on all of your Indesign files

good luck
