How to get headset working on DBC 213 phone?

I'm trying to use the option unit DBY 410 02 on DBC 213 phone as a headset but can't get it working. Key 14 doesn't light up. Is there any trick to it?

Hi Tom,

What revision of phone and option unit do you have. There is a compatiblity problem with older revisions of these units. If you have a option unit with revision R4A or lower then it will not work with the lastest revision phones.

I take it you have tried the standard c,*,1 key press?

Thanks for the tip John. I will check that. The option unit is brand new and the phone might be 2-3 years old.

Also the 6th button up can affect things on the 212 so it may do that on the 213, 202 & the 203 phones do need the older unit

Yeah, I thought about that and set key 14 (6th button up on left) back to TNS but that didn't help. Still no go.
