How to get Foxpro 2.6 for Windows to run on Win2K?

Just upgraded to Win2K and installed Foxpro 2.6 for Windows which I ran problem free on Win98. I applied the "divide overflow error patch" from Microsoft (my PC is a P800).
When I run the program the startup screen briefly flashes and then the program exits. Has anyone had this problem too and is there a solution? Can Foxpro 2.6 for windows run on Win2K? thanks

I still run on Win98 but the trick I've read in the forums are:

1. After you have installed FPW on the W2K computer, You simply copy the entire FPW directory from a Win98 computer to the Win2K computer. FPW is a Windows 3.1 based product so no files are copied into the Windows directory.

2. FPW is a 16 bit based application and does not know what to do on a large volume drive (partition size over 2gig) . To get around this you shared the drive FPW sits on,. Do this even if the drive is not accessed by anyone else of is not on a network.

Okay, I just tried both steps, and fpw still exits half a second after you start it. The machine I'm trying to get this to work on is a Dell Optiplex P800. The strange thing is, FPW does work on a P500 running Win2k, so it makes me think its a processor speed issue. Any other suggestions?

Go to Microsoft.com and search for "patch foxpro". A list of files are availabe with instructions for upgrading. Read them all.

How much RAM memory ? If greater 256 MB, FoxPro 2. fail.

download the patch in foxpro.. this is happening especially if your processor is too fast. You should patch also the foxprow.exe and the other file which compiles to become an exe..

There are two different patches. This one, I hope, fixes the problem.
