How to get email notifications when documents pointed by links are modified?

Hi,

I have subscribed for email notification when things changes in a folder (I've enabled all notifications: item is added, item status changes (I don't know what it means), version is added, etc.). In that folder, I have a link to a document outside of that folder. I want a notification to be sent when that document changes. Currently, it is not sending any.

click your outside link look in its function menu and say 'Add Item for Notification" in the ensuing screen pick what you need. If you put a notification on a folder and the item is not anywhere under it no notifications are generated
