I am installing a lobby phone. This phone needs to prompt the user for English/Spanish Press 1 go to English Press 2 Spanish. I have the custom service menu and prompt created. the service group 6 for daytime points to the custom service. The extension is set to dial the VM when the phone goes off hook. What I get is custom service 1 .... I must have to point the ext to a service group 6. Any Ideas

Thanks

very easy put that phone into a class of service that does
not have auto mailbox login or do not create a mailbox for that ext at all set up a special port on the system
with that custom greeting and then set that lobby ext to
do pickup dial to that special port...

you never really told us what system and voicemail you were
using?

not sure if this would work, but if its a TVM/TVA there is an option in the mail box to transfer to a specified cs number. I think this comes into effect once the greeting has been played. you could record a second of silence in a dummy mailbox - lets say 610 and have it transfer the call to your special custom service menu.

to get the call to voicemail, create an ICD group with the same extension number as the dummy mailbox and put a call forward on it to your voicemail pilot.

pretty straight forward if it works and saves wasting a dedicated port on the voicemail to do it. if it works that is.

probably got some time free this afternoon so i'll look into it myself

yes very true M you could set a dummy ext and set that dummy's mailbox up to have a Custom dialing menu and then set the lobby ext to pickup dial/hotline to that dummy ext.

Opps sorry I didn't put the equipment model in the original post. This is a tva-200 and tda-200. Thanks for your input.
