I have a Subreport that is calculating a Total Tonnage for a given customer and waste. I want to keep this number somehow and print out a Grand Total for this tonnage in my main report's footer. Can this be done and how?

Thanks.

You can carry the total tonnage back to your main report by creating a SHARED NumberVar in your subreport and then calling for it in your main report. You need to be sure that if you are going to call for it in your group of your main report that you place the subreport before the group so the subreport will execute.

To display your SHARED variable

Whileprintingrecords ;
SHARED NumberVar yourvalue ;

Using the comman SHARED allows you to bring it back and forth from subreport to mainreport.

Hope this helps you

I'm using Crystal Reports 5.0. Are SHARED Variables a part of 5.0?
