Hello,

I have created a individual per person statement for my employees in Crystal 8.5, I'm going to mail these out to my employees and thought it would be easier to create a cover sheet with name and address that would print out at the same time of their statement, so Mr. Amor would have a cover letter, then statment, Mr. Black, cover letter, statement....etc.

But no matter what I do I can't get it to come out that way...if I make it a report header it works fine if I print them out one at a time, but I have 3000 employees to do this for, if I do all of them at once then it just does the FIRST person...>I've spent hours moving it from Report Header, to Group Header, just about every where and now I'm on the end of my rope.....Anyone know how I could do this...please be aware that some people may have more than a one page statement, so I can't set up an every other page type thing....

Any help is highly appreciated.

A group header section is the logical location for the cover header. You would need to format the group header section with "new page after". Why didn't this work when you tried it?

It works good for the first person but on the second person it repeats the entire header information and now shows their name and info twice basically it repeats the Page Header and the Group Header, But one the first person it's perfect.

If the issue is that you need to have "Repeat group header on each page" checked for GH#1_b (where you have account information), but you don't want the cover letter (in GH#1_a) to repeat, then go to format->section->GH#1_a->suppress->x+2 and enter:

inrepeatedgroupheader

This will prevent the letter from appearing more than once per group.

If this still doesn't solve the problem, please provide a layout of where you have what by report section. I'm not sure I understand what is happening with the page header, but you probably want to suppress that on the page where the cover letter shows, so you could go to the section expert again->page header->suppress->x+2 and enter:

onfirstrecord or
{table.customerID} <> previous({table.customerID})

This assumes you have "New Page Before" checked for GH#1.
