i need some link to download a masm (16 bit) compatible debugging program (like microsoft codeview or turbo debugger)

none of these links contain what I need.
all debugging tools were inappropriate.(they were 32 bit only)

try DEBUG.EXE.
available from the command line on all windows systems.
it is really powerful once you get the hang of it.

Why do you specifically need a 16-bit debugger? Are you running this on a 386 or older computer? Some of the old versions of Turbo Debugger (program named TD.EXE) are probably out there, and I know that Borland has some free downloads of their older software available.

it's a 286 computer. i checked at borland.com earlier, but all I could find was a 32 bit debugger.

Borland's FREE Turbo Debugger has both TD32.exe and TD.exe (the 16-bit debugger).

Lee

why do you necessarily need a commercial debugger?
debug has all the basic functionality you'll need
to build 16 bit programs.

word of warning when searching for td.exe

there are many references to the turbo downloader
program, and they aint all nice. whatch the download
source and be sure you are getting turbo debugger
and not turbo downloader.
