Sometimes we have the need to forward someone's office extension to their home #. How can we do this easily/remotley without having to be at the physical phone?

We have a CS100M, phone is an 1140.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply.

How can I tell the following:

Do we currently have a DISA DN configured?
Do we currently have a SCPL configured?
How do I do a data load and a SYSDUMP and what are the ramifications?

Thank you

There are no such terms as data load and a SYSDUMP. If you want to do a Data Dump, that is just a backup. If you want to do a Sysload, that is like a reboot. You do not want to do a Sysload unless you have no other choice. Backups are shown here:
To find out if you have DISA, go to LD24, REQ PRT; TYPE DIS;

To find out if you have SCPL, You are best off reading this, which was on the Remote Call Forward page

Is there any other way to do it with enabling Remote Call Forwarding?

Like, could I do it from my phone via a programmed key?

Thanks

If you do it from your phone, that would be remote. If you walk over to that persons phone, that would not be remote.

RCF is really easy. It is the way to forward someone elses phone to another number.

PS: You do NOT need DISA if you and the phone to be forwarded are on the same system. You skip the DISA step and just dial the RCFA code from your phone. I've used this hundreds of times when someone calls and says "Our fax is dead and we need calls to go to another fax number". It is great for that application.

GHTROUT, thanks for your quick reply.

The docmentation states that a change to the SCPL will require a data dump and a SYSLOAD. Is there anyway I can find out what the SCPL is so I don't have to change it?

Thanks

Thanks for that.

Ok, so I have it all set up, but it's not working. Here is what I'm doing and what's happeining:

1. I call the RCFA FCC
2. Enter the SCP
3. Enter the prime DN of the phone to be fwded (I get a tone at this point, which I presume in the confirmation tone)
4. When I try to enter the number to fwd to, the tone just stays there the whole time??? And if I check, the fwding doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Where are you forwarding the phone to? You are still under the control of the CFW n (n=digit length of number to forward to) as well as the CLS - you need CFXA to CFW external.

So to forward to 912125551212 , that phone would need:

CLS CFXA
KEY x CFW 12

The TN has CFXA and I have a key of CFW 16.

In re-reading your documentation on this (great site btw) I see that my Customer Data Block RDR_DATA OPT is CFO, not CFF. Would that be causing the problem?

What does CFO & CFF mean exactly?

You do want to set OPT CFF.

CFF says "Obtain restrictions for CFW from the phone that is CFWing"

CFO say "Obtain restrictions for CFW from the originator of the call - and in the case of external, that means "the trunk" (where the call came in on), which is generally NCOS 0, and it should be NCOS 0.

As for the failure in step 4 of your post, the only thing I can think of is "Try this from an analog phone that has a normal DTMF keypad" and see if that changes anything. Otherwise, press # at the end of where you want to forward.

Also, make sure you are entering the number to forward to just like the person was dialing it from their phone... in other words 912125551212 or 95551212

If I am using my phone to do the CFW and it has NCOS6, then can I leave it as CFO?

Since....

CFO say "Obtain restrictions for CFW from the originator of the call

If Jane is performing the RCF to CFW Bill's phone, then the NCOS of Bill is the only one that matters.

If you want external callers to be forwarded to Bill's house, then set OPT CFF so it looks at Bill's NCOS, and not the incoming trunk's NCOS.

Ok, now I understand the CFF/CFO, thank you.

After I enter the Prime DN of phone to be fwd, I get 3 small tones and then one continuous tone.... I enter the # to fwd to and press # and still not working.

Are you certain you have the two FFC codes right: RCFA to start the "turn it on" process and RCFD to start the "turn it off" process.

Print them out in LD56

LD57
REQ PRT
TYPE FFC
at CODE, enter ALL to see everything.

Also see if the Prime DN is only KEY 0 on one phone (the phone you want to CFW) - and that the TN has a value in the SCPW field.

I assume you found the Wallet Code Generator on my site. If you fill in all the numbers from your system, it will generate a wallet card with the codes.

Yes, I did see your Wallet Code Generator, very helpful.

So, right now, you are Call Forwarded to 9. You have to use RCFD to deactivate that, then start the process of RFCA'ing it to the full 12 digits, or whatever number you want.

I tried to take the CFW 9 out previously via the RCFD but it didn't work. The only way I can get that out is by changing it via LD 11.

Then, when I try the RCFA again with a nubmer like: 912121234567# it just gives me the tone and when I look at the TN in LD 11 the CFW 9 is back again!

If you go to Extn 4215, can you dial the number you want to Forward it to? If not, that is a problem with the NCOS, or the number as dialed just isn't valid.

Also, is "9" the BARS AC1 or is it a Trunk Route Access Code? Do a DNB on "9"

There is another set of restrictions that block forwarding to Route Access Codes. It is the CFTA prompt in the LD21 RDR
