Using windows 2000 professional, I keep getting Out of Memory message in MicroSoft Works Version 6.5.

How can I fix this?

Is the message out of memory or out of virtual memory?

Are you running out of space in your C drive? if less than 200mb, open explorer on your c drive and delete your temp and temporary internet files under C\documents and settings\<user name/s>\local settings\Temp and temporary internet files

*Note: you might have to enable file viewing under Tools\folder options\select view\Click on "show hidden files and folders"\ hit okay.

Delete the contents of your temp folder. C:\temp

Also, open your ie, go to tools\internet options\settings\and resize that to about 50mb "you don't need that much space in there"

And if you can, delete programs that you will not be using.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. No I am not running out of disk space or memory. I have a 35 GB hard drive with only 6.5 GB used. My computer has 1GB memory.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

The message just says "Out of Memory". There is no reference to virtual memory.

Trying to print to laser printers a mail merge a letter with a data base. However, I get the error even if merging only one record or letter.

Thanks,

Mike, that sounds like an application specific error you are getting and I am no expert on MS Works. You may want to try printing with a different printer, local printer maybe!.
Also you may want to search MS knowledgebase at for more explanations of your problem.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help. It appears we get the out of memory error when printing to the HP 4300 which we just purchased & set up starting January 01, 2004. I do not get the error when printing the the HP IIIsi. We are using Windows 2000 professional. Any ideas?
