Hi,

Sometimes I see a list of files and wonder what they mean?

Can someone tell me a site where I can find out what this file is for? I know some files come with software, that I load on the system. But others could be windows based or general purpose files that all programs use.

I know some of the extentsions like;

EXE - Executable
DLL - Dynamic Link Library

But here's a few I have no idea what they are;

DDEM.dll
Mcicda.drv
Winaspi.dll

Any info or sites where I can find info, would be appreaciated.

Thanks

I know of no sites available for what you reqquest but you can find out what each one is by searching in Google, personally the only ones you should be concerned with are the malicious ones.

Same answer -- search on Google.

If you suspect something might be a virus / trojan, you can also go to Symantec.com and search for the filename there.
