On a Mitel 3300 is there an easy way to find out everywhere a non-prime extension appears?

I have some extension numbers that are used by our phone vendor to forward to Voice mail. I think he has set up a 'phantom extension' to do this...but have no way to find it (LOCATE only seems to find prime extension). Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Hopefully you have access to the System Administration Tool. If not, then I don't think you can do it.

System Configuration
Devices
IP Phones
Multiline IP sets
Multiline Set Group Assignment (or Appearance)

You should be able to find your non-prime numbers there. If you are not sure if you have all the extensions that forward always to voicemail, try looking at:

System Administration
Call Handling
Call Rerouting
Call Rerouting Assignment.

In the Call Rerouting Assignment form, find one of the known non-prime extensions that forward always to voicemail. See what routing number is assigned to them and see if any other extensions have the same set up.

Good Luck!

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

Even without access to the system admin tool you can still get there by telnetting to the IP address of the RTC, logging in (default ss2k call control login credentials). From there open a CDE session and read (do not edit) the MU S G form and CAL R AS form.

Per leader-led 3300 Mitel Training School it is inadvisable to perform any programming from this interface unless specifically directed to do so by Product Support. Depending upon the form you tamper with, unpredictable results can occur, including database corruption.

Thank you both very much! I have access to the SAT and also telnet/ssh if I could remember the password :O). Perhaps not remembering is good if I can get into trouble too quickly that way. So - anyway - this will allow me to figure out the details of how calls are routing. That way I can carefully copy the techniques used for a new 800 number. And yes, I back up the system before I touch it.

Thanks again!

You're welcome.

If you can't do it without using telnet, then post again. We can give you the password. I don't really recommend it and that is why I didn't offer that as a solution to begin with. Good luck!
