I have 10 Networker servers (6.X)and every server
take backup on ca 200 clients with different Networkers client versions (6.X).
It's some easy way (script or something) to find out
client's versions on a Networker server?
Although this seems to work for a NetWorker server for
Windows, you can of course use NetWorker's capabilities to
find a universal solution which is valid for all platforms:
C:\nsr\bin>nsradmin
NetWorker administration program.
Use the "help" command for help.
nsradmin> show NetWorker version
nsradmin> show Name
nsradmin> print type: NSR Client
name: client_1;
NetWorker version: 7.0.Build.322;
Please keep in mind:
- By default the field "NetWorker version" is empty
- To populate it, you
- must work with a valid license (no Eval mode)
- must have initiate a backup of these clients
The license type is probably the explaination. Unfortunately
i never had the chance to work with such.
As far as i know an enterprise license allows everything.
Consequently, it might turn off license checking in general.
But this should be listed in the daemon.log file after the
server has been started. This is also the explaination why
the information is not evailable for the eval mode as well.
Although license checking is disabled, NW could principally
check for the client versions, but it obviously does not.
