Hi,

I'm new to Livelink. I need to fire a query to get document count by folder. can some one guide me to the documentation on how to write queries and how to execute queries.

I have access to my livelink system, but I cant find any link to execute livelink queries on my UI.

Do we have seperate UI for executing queries or need more permissions.

Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Mohan

Click on your personal menu and find Reports.Inside that click and see if you see "Live Reports".usually you will be able to execute it but only people having "permissions" to create one can do it.That is how you learn by looking at canned reports or going to class or getting the schema book from OT which is free to customers who will sign an NDA.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Thanks alot for the reply.

I went to the reports, thare are multiple reports here but of no use to me. I want to genearate a report for document count by folder. I'm Documentum guy, In Documentum i can easily frame queries(DQL). Do we have such facility here?

Is there a Documentation how to learn designing report with examples?

Once again thanks for the help.

DQL for livelink is Live Reports + Web Reports As I said if you sign up to the knowledge base of OpenText which is knowledge dot Opentext dot com and find the live reports forum you can find thousands of examples for what you want As I said if you get the schema you can get to know ER diagrams as well as structure

Thanks Geek, I will check this in knowledge center.

I would schedule/attend for a LiveReport course with the vendor if I were you. It costs money, but time is also money. You will be spending a bit of time figuring that out, on top of the time you've already spent. Sometimes getting a response from the KC is not always immediate. Getting a response from the vendor is a matter of hours, and they generally (from my experience) tend to help.
