I know this is a basic and dumb question, but I got my hands on a few Local Directors and a PIX520, so I can finally learn them. How does one erase the startup config on a PIX???

Burt

write erase

Should do the trick.

Thanks...I should have remembered to try the old school commands...like write memory, etc.lol

Have you ever messed with a Local Director? Looks just like a PIX...I haven't consoled to it yet...I imagine it's an old way to load balance?

Burt

I have a couple of LD's in storage. Very stripped-down interface that's very similar to Finesse 4.x and 5.x. HW/SW mostly identical to the PIX Classic and PIX 520.

Here is a console sample of one of my 430's.
