how to enforce dial 0 for operator rule?

Hello,

this forum has been a great resource for solving my woes, but I couldn't find a solution for this one...

Right now, if an inbound caller doesn't dial zero for the operator, they still get passed to the operator. This is letting 10 or more automated calls per day ring through to the main phone (ext 221). Is there a way to disable that auto-forwarding?

You can access the operator setting under f982 and make the attendent unavaliable. Then it wont transfer to the attendent that also takes away in the AA the dial zero.
 
if you want to use the dial 0 but block the (this is your captian speaking) auto dialing messages you could turn on the touch tone gate

the only thing is every body will have to dial 1 for the auto attendant

sorry it posted before i changed it the touchtone gate won't do it
if you don't press one it goes directly to the operator

thanks folks. Too bad it's an all or nothing thing. We decided to shove all operator calls to the general mailbox and assign someone to check the voice mail periodically.
