Dear Telephony Gurus,

I'm not expert in NEC PBX maybe someone out there could help us. We are in a middle of migration from analog phone to VoIP phone. We are currently running the 2 systems in parallel. We are using Quintum AXM2400 (FXO/FXS) as a gateway between the two systems. We would like to enable our operator console or maybe all our analog users to transfer call from outside to the VoIP extensions. How are we going to do that? Should we adjust it from the trunk setting or phone setting?

Regards,

7400 probably puts you in Australia, but the question is which 7400 do you have? ICS120, 140 or 160 Then again it could be an IMS, IPX or others. Post the model and we may be able to help.

That would be one for Belvedere to answer then but it is a complicated job and I am not sure the configuration you currently have will support it fully. You would normally send the dialed digits to LCR and out through your link, the question is, how many channels do you have between the two systems. Normally for a transition like this I would recommend a 30 channel ISDN link between the two systems. Are the extensions on the VoIP system in the same range as the 140? How are you handling inbound calls? Does your incoming ISDN go to your VoIP first and then pass legacy extension calls through to the 140? We will need lots more information to be able to advise you but I really suspect you will end up calling a tech in which raises the question, how knowledgeable are you if doing your own programming and do you have MAT access?

Now at the moment we are trying to sort out access problems for Belvedere so it may take a while for him to respond but I'm sure once he does he will be able to point you in the right direction.
