Hi all. I am pretty experienced in HTML but am looking to use templates (downloadable for a fee) online to make a more professional looking website. I have downloaded a sample and there are several folders to the template, HTML, PSD, Fonts etc. How do I edit the PSD in photoshop to in effect edit the template? Does anyone know of an online tutorial I can read to further understand editing PSD templates?

I understand how to physically edit the template as I have used photoshop for over 5 years now but I dont understand how to get the changed PSD file to effect the actual web page! I hope I am being clear enough in my question.

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

if you take the psd document into image ready you should be able to see the slices that have been used.

from here use export and this should provide you with the seperate images you need.

You could look into the folder that contains the images for the page layout and change them individualy.

You can also see the slices right in Photoshop. View>Show>Slices

once the slices are shows what exactly can you do with them? Can you save them individually? If so how? Thanks in advance!

File>Save for Web.

Choose the slices you want to save (by clicking them with the slice selection tool) and the compression options, then SAVE.

In the slices dropdown choose "Selected Slices".

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!
