we are installing a new phone system so we need to dump the existing definity g3 configuration to use as a reference while building the new. what is the best way to go about this?

any help is great appreciated.

The best way is to use Pro-Vision, but only Avaya folks have access

The second best way, and your best alternative, is to Use Avaya Site Administrator to export and report as much info as possible into an Excel spreadsheet. You can then use Excel to tweak and dump the config into your new switch

I have a document with instructions if you need it

You can use the Call Flow Extract from Utilcall.

There is a program called DocIt that comes with this, and it can download all of your switch configurations into an html format and a text format.

We run this program in a weekly schedule to document our switches.

In Avaya Site Administrator under Fault & Performance, use the Hardware Manager. This will give you a complete layout of your cabinets. Also you will be able to run audits and capacity reports.
