I'm hoping this will be a straight forward question for someone to answer.

We have a number of fax machines that use 'Internal' lines connected to our PBX (Ericsson MD110 - very old), but we have recently inplimented a new ZetaFax server with multiple DDI's that can direct Faxes to email accounts.

In order not to have to tell every contact and customer we have ever dealt with that we are changing our Fax Numbers, I would like to be able to redirect these extentions to the direct BT telephone numbers associated with the ZetaFax server.

When I try this on our telephone system I can only divert calls to other internal extension numbers.

Is it possible to put an extention number on divert to an external number, and if so how?

YOU CAN CHANGE THE FAX EXTENSION NUMBER INTO GENERIC EXTENSION (GEDII), THEN WITH COMMAND GEPEI:DIR=XXXX,PROC=A22BXXXXXXXXB;
YOU INITIALIZE THE DIVERSION PROCEDURE TOWARD THE EXTERNAL NUMBER. THE CDIV OF CSP OF THE GENERIC EXTENSION MUST BE SET APROPRIATERLY FOR THE EXTERNAL DIVERSION.

MrAds,

what is the version of your MD110?

There are plenty of ways to do this..

Turn the extensions into Common Abbreviated Dial numbers and then set the translation to the new DDI (useful as you can get stats on the amount of incming calls)

Allow external follow me on the Extensions (Change the Category).. and then key in from the handset *22*9xxxxxxxxx#
Where 9 is the number for an outside line and xxx is the new external DDI. - this means you still have the fax to SEND faxes

Use Generic extension and Personal number, (BC10 and later revisions)

You could probably do something in NUTRI also, and i;m sure there are more solutions too... If you are on older software use of the first two listed

Cheers

easiest solution is to remove the extension numbers in question from the ex number range (cease them first) and place in common abb dial range then program as abb dials. I've used that lots of times before and it works just fine.

NANSE:numtyp=ex,numse=(extension numbers);
Nansi:numtyp=ac,numse=(extension numbers);
Adcoi:abb=(extension number),tra=(zetafax number),class=0&&3;

just don't forget to add the 9 or whatever for an external line on the TRA
