I am using SharePoint 2010, SP Designer, and Infopath 2010. I have created a browser-enabled infopath form. I have associated an approval workflow to this form. Evrerything works fine except one section of the form has been giving me problems for 2 days.

I am trying to display the current status, the approver and date it's been rejected/approved in 3 calculated fields. I have created a data connection to my library and was able to retrieve the approver and status but the problem is, it does not get the current form opened information. It gets the first form's workflow information that is listed at the top of the library.

How do I get a specific form status info?

how do I get the approval date?

Can this be done without writing code?

I have tried to add an extra column in my list and set the value of the field but it still only gets the first form in my list. I even tried to use a web service but i get an error when adding the connection. I even tried to use an article on MS office website about using a condition depending on if the status is approved and switches the view to read only. However, my workflow name is not in the list to be checked off while creating a data connection.

Any ideas? Thanks ....if only they had a where clause, like SQL. :)

It's q workflow task that is assigned to a user. I created this workflow in sharepoint designer. I actually figured out hiw to do this with a custom column in tge library but I now I think I need more Info. I am trying to figure out how to filter tge status, title, and related content fields from tge workflow process tasks by relating it to a specific form. Do you know how I can apply a conditional filter to check if related content is equal to title of tge form but minus the extension .XML.

On the form itself in calculated fields.

That's what I am trying to figure out. What is that rule? What is the. Fields I check for and syntax, etc

Thanks for tge input but I am passed tHge introduction of rules with my probelwm. I understand all of that.

I have a section on the form thats says authorization status. I want to display the active form assigned to, task, and status from the task list. What are the specific fields, rules and conditions i use to do this?

Create a field in your Form Library with the name of TaskID.

When your Workflow creates the Task, create a Workflow Action to update your form library TaskID field with the output Variable of the Task.

WF Actions:
Create item in Workflow Tasks(Output to Variable: create)
Update item in Current Item -- Set this field: TaskID, To this vale: Variable: create

In your InfoPath form, create a new data connection to query the Task List with the TaskID value and grab the status of the Task.

you should be able to create a hyperlink back to the Task.
