I need to display all links (href) of a internet webpage in a datawindow within an application. I am using PB Prof. vers. 8.0.3 build 9704 on a single PC.

From the documentation I haven't been able to extract the required steps to do this.

Can someone possibly summarize for me the commands required to

connect to the URL
read the web page
process the contents of the page

I would then hopefully be able to search the documentation more successfully.

Is what I am trying to do possible at all with the installation I have?

Any help would be greatly appreciated (also hints to other docs).

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Chris, but forum 144 didn't talk about this problem.

I would guess then that it can't be done in powerbuilder. You need to be using a RAD tool with HTTP components/capabilities.

What you described is fairly simple stuff in PHP or ASP. so maybe an independant process storing the page data in a table would do what you need, it depends on how portable your app needs to be.

Chris.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

The task is to generate a tree of pages from the links starting at a given URL similar to an explorer file structure and then to download desired files like jpegs from those pages walking through the enries page by page.

There's a couple more bells and whistles but basically that's it.

Thanks for taking the time.
