I am using CR8.0

I am counting # of patient admits by admit type (AMS, SDS, IP) per day. For example, the number of AMS (or ambulatory surgery patients) that had surgery on a given day, the number of SDS (or Same Day Admit type patients that had surgery on a given day, etc.) I know how to suppress the detail section and I am able to get a correct group footer that shows:

June 13, 2005 AMS 5
June 13, 2005 SDS 8
June 13, 2005 IP 6
Total 19

However, user wishes the report this way:

AMS SDS IP Total
June 13, 2005 5 8 6 19

I am guessing this might have to do with some multi-column formatting - but as you can see, I am lost.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Try inserting a crosstab. Use {table.date} as the row field, {table.admittype} as the column, and count of {table.patientID} as the summary.
