hi,
I have a report where all information is given in the group footer section.

The detail block contains neither fields nor any other information and is suppressed.

Pointing to any item in the group footer section allows a drill-down with just one line: The content of the corresponding line itself without any labels etc.

It looks weird and I like to disable the drill-down but couldn't find any way to do it.

Maybe there is a function to do the job.

Any hint is appreciated,regards, joe

joe:

If you have labels, drag the field into the corresponding label. If you don't have labels, add a text area to your report, and drag the field into it. CR won't allow drilling down on text areas whether they contain a field or not.

thx brian,
your solution is easy to implement, feasible and working.

Crystal really should allow us to disable drill-down, but your solution is a really handy workaround. I think I will mention this issue, and Brian's solution in my next newsletter. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Another interesting tidbit, Crystal allows you to drill down on any formula field that is placed in a group, whether it contains a database field or not. This will allow you to provide some text to drill down, if need be. I have used it to place text to instruct users that they can drill down.

Something like "Double click here to see more information".

You may never have the need for it but its there if you do.
