How to determine current macola user in flex 1

I'd like to use a bit of flex code to populate a user field in OE0101 with the current username, to track who entered an order.
Is there a function or routine that I can call to easily return the currently logged on macola user?

Has anyone done something similar?

This info is already in the database in the OEHDRAUD_SQL table in the field 'user_name', provided that you have audit trails turned on in OE Setup.
