Hi,

I'm tryng to design a report and it doesnt fit in the regular size...what do i do to change the page settings to landscape while desiginging....coz i have more columns....and comparatively less number of columns.

Please Help and your help is sincerely appreciated.

Uday.

Depends upon your version--it's either in page setup or in printer setup under file. You'll see page orientation->landscape.

It's worth spending some time just exploring the various dropdowns and screens in CR in order to familiarize yourself.

I used to constantly run out of horizontal real estate in Crystal Reports because I was limited by the paper dimensions available on our network printers. Most of our printers use legal size paper and a few use 14"x17", so I was limited to 17" report widths when I flipped the orientation to landscape. More than a nuisance when using data table with over 100 fields each. Eventually I asked one of our printer guys for suggestions. He set up a dummy print queue on our print server using a driver for a 54"x76" plotter. After installing the new print queue on my workstation, I now have a maximum report width of 76". You might investigate doing something similar.

I thought you might like to know this little tidbit, since you are creating wide real estate reports. I was using Crystal 9 for some time. If you place a field in the report that is off the page and refresh, Crystal will likely crash. I ahve talked to quite a few people and that is a common bug. Not sure if it is isolated to CR9, but thought you might like to know.

Later all...

Tatertot45, your comment is interesting but does not belong in this thread. Why not post it as an 'information' thread? With a sensible title it would be something that SEARCH could pick up.
