Hello, while using explorer to tags some images, I noticed there are some tags that I didn't create, and can't delete either. They seem to have the names of files that I no longer have. So, I tried to tag an image with HARD, a tag I have used before but as soon as I type H these are the results I get:

tags.jpg

I have tried searching on my HDD and on the registry, and those tags didn't appear. So, what could be causing this?

Windows Search...

Vista adds image meta-data using XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) - this is XML-formatted information embedded in the image file. Where possible the meta-data is also stored in the corresponding EXIF data.

So I am guessing that one or more of your pictures have those tags already, pics can have more than one tag, and that Windows Search tries to help you out in that it suggests those tags-names...

The funny thing is I have no images with those tags, even Windows Live Photo Gallery doesn't have them on its list. If ti is windows search, maybe I'll have to turn it off and install the google search index then or coopernic and see if it fixes it. Thanks.

just thought of another thing that could cause the references, and that being the AUTOCOMPLETE function...

PS: found this on the NET...
