Is it possible to change the behaviour of the on/off power switch on a ML350 to delay. Currently, if someone even brushes up against the button, the power immediately turns on/off.

I'm used to server power switches (Compaq Proliant 7000, Dell 6600) requiring to be held down for a few seconds to confirm that the power should be turned off.

I could not find a solution in the bios.

Thanks,

Tim

The official answer from HP/Compaq: "No delay is available for the power switch" :-(

Easy answer:

If it is a rack-mount server, close the rack door. If it is a floor-standing server, close the door, on the server. Alternatively, don't brush against the server. -----------------------------------------------------

Yup - cover the switch so you consciously have to lift a cover to power it off (or on).

I had to do this in our computer room on the light switch because the dozy builder put the light switch between the door release button and the door - being a windowless computer room meant it was illuminated only by the LEDs on the drives - which is dark....
