Okay..
1st just to clarify you need to set up an audix subscriber to auto attendant on page two of the change sub form (screwed that up in the last post), then change the addressing format to name as previously posted, then set up page 3 as listed above.
2nd. This is a great tip! and not a single reply. I'm still impressed with myself for figuring this out! come on ppl how about at least 1 star?!?!
Thanks for the tip. We are still experimenting and trying to come up with the right solution for our requirement. You have definitely got us in the right direction.
Make sure you put a message on it.
Something like... enter the persons name using your touch pad, starting with their last name.
Than will also want to have it linked by a button on the
main attendant and have your main attendant say something like...If you know the name of the person you wan to reach press 5 now.
Is there a way to have an Audix mailbox NOT be available through the Names auto-attendant? Soemthing similar to prefixing the name in Definity with * or ~ so it will not appear in the on-line directory?

Just as an FYI - prefixing the names with an * or ~ did not prevent the mailbox from being available through the Name auto-attendant. For the handful of mailboxes that I wanted to "hide", I ended up putting the letters XYZ in front of the name (for example: XYZ JONES, JOE).
I thought about prefixing the name with XXX, but thought someone might get the wrong idea....... ;-)

We use the "_" character to prefix names. This keeps those stations off of the internal directory. It should work on AUDIX as well to prevent users names from being selected from the outside.
Does anyone know how to force AUDIX to announce the subscriber that was selected by the outside caller?
We have the directory working, but right now if an outside caller enters the last name of a subscriber and the subscriber is the only one that matches, the AUDIX will simply transfer to the station. It would be nice if AUDIX would announce the subscriber before transferring.
