I have added some word documents to my site to download, but when i try to download it opens the file instead of giving me the option to save to disk or open. How do you get this option?

This is totally depentant upon how the user has their browser set up. If the user has their browser set up to open instead of save when they click a document of that type it will open it.

There are two options you have.

1. Put in a line of text that says " Right click and click save as to save document" or something along those lines.

2. Put it in a zip file and link to those instead.

Depending upon your audience I would choose the first choice because some people may not know what a zip file is.

Good luck!

I personally hate to download something, then unzip it, then view!!! Why? why should I download something if I use Internet and can see all other files but yours I have to download???

holey,
I don't want you to think that I'm so angry at you - I just want to show that some people don't like to download files that can viewed in browser. I only suggest to let a user choose either to download zipped file ('cause it's smaller) or view it right now. Put two links - one to view, another to download. Good Luck! :)
