How to create an index for a report...

I need some help on how to create an index for my report.
I have a report with one group and i need to put at the end of the report an index page that will have on it the name of each category and the page that the information of that category is placed on the report.
I have already tried to put a string in the group header that stores each group and the page that it begins and also i have put at the group footer another string that contains the page that the group ends. But this works only for a number of groups. Problems appear when i have large number of groups and therefore the string size reaches 255 characters.
Anyone having an idea on how to find those pages for each group?

you have a listing of sample reports. If you download the one with arrays you will find one that take care of an index in the report footer.

It seems that is not a good solution because i am having problems with the array that is used because i have too many data and the reports genarate error message about the size of the array.

Hi again !

Ok, well thats a problem. The limit of positions for an array in version 8 are 999.
Have you tried to exceed the array? The sample report has a size of just 300 positions.
Maybe that can help. Otherwise I don´t know.
