How to create a navigation menu?

I want to be able to create a nav menu like the one shown in the link...

I don't know javascript at all, I do know html and css.

If you can point me in the direction of a tutorial which shows me how to create a menu like that, it'll do fine.

I've worked out how to create the image map, all I need now is the script for opening all the menus?

I've looked at the source but the only bit of code I understand are the menu.additem parts...
