hello,
the font size changes a lot in my slides. i would like to type one key or two to change the font size of a word or a set of characters.

would, please, tell me how to do that and if there is a tutorial on this topic. I never touched macros before.

thanks.

hi ilses.

i have a french canadian keyboard. i guess it does not work with it. i tried.

cheers.

Well, frankly, I just tried that with a standard Dell (American) keyboard - nothing special, fancy, or strange, and it didn't work for me, either.

How about:

Tools Menu ->
Macro ->
And then whatever you want do to from there (record the macro, or code it - just enter the Visual Basic Editor.

ilses,

The link you referenced in your last post shows the keyboard shortcut combination you listed as useful in modifying fonts, not recording macros:

Change or resize the font
To do this Press
Change the font CTRL+SHIFT+F
Change the font size CTRL+SHIFT+P

Decrease the font size CTRL+SHIFT+< [/highlight]

ilses,

The same site does say:

To assign custom keyboard shortcuts to menu items, recorded macros, and VBA code in PowerPoint, you must use a third-party add-in, such as Shortcut Manager for PowerPoint, available from OfficeOne Add-Ins for PowerPoint.
at the top of the page. So, are you using a custom shortcut manager, possibly?

sept2006 would

"like to type one key or two to change the font size of a word or a set of characters."

If sept2006's intention was to write a macro for that, excluding the use of keyboard shortcuts, then I misunderstood.

No, I do not use a custom shortcut manager and did not even know these existed. Thanks for the tip!

sept2006,

I do not know if an add-in exists for this, but you could just write your own macro (VBA), and connect a button to it, as well as a keyboard shortcut for changing the fonts. I'm sure it can be done in code, though I've never had a need to do that.

thank you very much.

i tried the Shortcut Manager. It forze Powerpoint! i had to uninstall it.
i would not know where to begin if i had to write my own VB macro, but i will be glad to learn.
i did not find much on the subject.

for now, i am using (ctrl+ =) and (ctrl+shift+ =) for subscripts and powers. it is better than nothing.

thanks again.

sept2006,

I should think you can easily get going on building your own macros in VBA if you post a question in:
