HI,

I have been asked to move a whole directory structure from Windows to Livelink.

This directory has got 2 years worth of docuemnts within it.

What is the best way of doing this??

I have tried copying into livelink via the livelink desktop...and this does not seem to pick up the sub directoreis..

please help!!

There are several option ranked by usability
a)A product called Objectimporter made by opentext. You can install it and run it(very efficient worthwhile investment). The only thing that your programming team may need to come up with is an input control file.Write me at appoos@hotmail.com and I will send you a sample control file
b)Authorlink made by Formark which is an excellent multi file uploader.
c)Write your own oscript or lapi app that does it.I have a bulk fetch tool that I display at does quite the opposite. It takes the files from livelink and burns the hierarchy.Changing the LAPI call and tweaking it to do CreateObjectEx.Actaully this must be easier since you don't have to intercae to the DB and you are loading things from scratch.

Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.

Hi Piesang/Banana

Honestly, the best way to move the content would be to use Livelink Explorer, in the past we have had to do this and it works very well. Livelink desktop is crap, Explorer has many great features, and is much better to use that even Livelink via Web.

You could also use the Export functionallity, but Livelink Explorer is the way to go.

Cheers
