I have a computer running windows 98SE - older computer AMD 333 but anyway It had a 2 GB WD HD when it ran out of space I threw a 20 GB HD in it. I need to know if there is a way I can copy everything from the 2 GB HD to the formatted 20 GB HD - then remove the 2 GB drive and boot on the 20 GB HD.
Any help would be appreciated. Both drives are western Digital Drives.

Thank you
Terry :)

If its not broken then try and fix it anyway :)

My favorite is Norton Ghost 2001/2/3. There are others such as Drive Copy. Also, most hard drive vendors have such a utility that works only on their own drives. I know Seagate has these tools, so I would suggest looking at WD web and you might score a freebie utility to do it.

You cannot do a merge of the two drives, which I suspect is what you would like to do.

You want to start with a clean, new drive with your 20. Download from the drive manufacturer's website their installation software for the drive. Included will be a utility to do a drive-to-drive copy. Do this for the older drive to the newer one. Reconfigure your jumpers and cable ends, and you should be fine.

I agree with Bcastner. This is a quick and simple way. Just make sure you understand the difference between the source and destination or you will lose all your data.

If you don't want to buy Ghost, I have complete instructions on doing it, simply by using the tools built in to Win98.

Cheers,
Jim
