I need to synchronize my s8700 with a global clock, does anyone know how to do this?

I know that the ASA application can help me to synchronize my server with the computer, but I would like to synchronize directly to a global clock.

If you have any idea of how to do this, please let me know it.

It's in the server setup part of the web admin. Network time.
You can put in the URL of a global clock.

Speak softly and carry a big switch

This is done under "Configure Server"...

we use our core router as the master for all of our network devices and servers. it gets it's time from a Tier 2 server...

What if I dont have access to the web admin page?
In this moment I have access to the OS, but I am in a remote location, so I need to configure something over the linux OS system, is there any way to do it?

Thank you for your comments.

if you can "edit" (or use "vi") on the file "/etc/ntp.conf" you can put the NTP server(s) in their, however, to restart the NTP service (or even to edit the file most likely), you will need sroot permisions.

in short, you will have to call AVAYA, and it will likely be chargeable. If you have web server access, under "configure server", configure individual services, then "Configure time server", you can setup the NTP without sroot access, however, to get them to start working, you need to do a shutdown/reboot, or have access to stop and start the NTP service (sroot)

What do you mean you don't have access to the web page interface? If you can get to the command line there should be no reason you can't get to the web page. Regardless you can't setup NTP from the command line without root access.

I think web access can be blocked when the static routes are not administered correctly, or when specific ports aren't open, right?

What version of CM?

Is the web browser issue only with one login or nobody can use the web browser?

Starting with CM4 webProfiles govern what a user can do once they authenticate to the server.

The problem is not the web access, the web access is working fine, but I don't have access to it, I just have access to the servers via xterm.

Well I will try to access via sroot to change the file.
Thanks.
