How can i connect to our unix box from a windows 2000 or XP
box in order to do/run some updates on our DB ???

Do you have to telnet to the ip ?

thanks guys

use the hyperterminal to telnet the unix box.
and you can update your db.

Your database might support ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) so you could programme an interface for that.

Or if it's Oracle you could probably just install the client (sqlplus) on your Windows 2000 box and run the script locally. Annihilannic.

Its SCO UNIX

what is a good X session/program/download to use so it shows you exactly whats on the unix box screen ??
i'd rather not use the terminal session, we want to have it seem as if your right in front of the console because when we actually login, it
shows several items we use that look like windows, like system manager icon's and unix shell etc.....

thanks again

u got it !!
boss is a windows lover, so he wants it to look like windows
to do admin

thanks dude
