I'm tryin to confugre sip trunks on a Nortel Communications Server 1000 to work with a Unified Communications Server.

I have configured the route and trunk and the IP of the Unified Communications Server doing a trace with Wireshark I do not see sip trafic to the Sever.

Does anyone know what are the proper steps for doing this type of configuration?

the IP Peer Networking
or
IP Peer Networking Installation
and Commissioning
are good NTP guides with all steps required.

The UM server is not from Microsoft is from a company called ESNA Technologies. Know I have confiured the switch (PBX) but when I run wireshark to see if any sip communication is getting from the switch or PBX to the server it stays blank.

So how can I see or determine if the PBX is doing the right thing or is configured correctly?

Also is there a way to trace the call and see if the call is going or is intended to go to the server IP?

In the trunk, you will configure a SIP Profile. That profile will need the User Name, User Profile, Domain of the server, and the Codec configured. Start there and then Trace the call and look at those traces to see what errors are coming up. Make sure you have the same SIP Profile in the server, and the Codec matching.
