Hello,

We have subscribed 1-ISDN Lines with 10 DDI Numbers for Shoretell System.

I would like to configure Shoretell PBX, whenever recipient call to any of DDI numbers, the call should be routed to selective extensions number.

Likewise, i would like to route all 10 DDI numbers to be routed at all specific 10 extension numbers.

May I know, is it possible to configure DDi Number to route to each ext.

Looking for your valuable support.

Thanks,
Sam.

In the Shoretel Director goto Administration > Trunks > (select your trunk group) > Click on the 'Edit DID Range' button. Be sure to click the 'Add this record' link, or your changes will not be saved.

Thanks for your valuable response !!

Yes I done the same way, as you given the steps.

and added following numbers

Eg:-
DID ..0208 941 7651

When I Click on Edit DID Range

I ask me 2 fields

Enter Based Number and DID Number
I enter
last six digit (417651) and 004402089417651

Now, whenever some call to above given number it should be routed to Ext 200, how do i configure in Shoretel.

One more thing I would like to put infront of you, I have ISDN Line from my ISP, which we recieve only one Cable connected to Shoretell PBX, I would like to know, if i add all 10 DID Number in DID Setup page of shoretell and if someone dail to any did number, will the call can go to configured Extension as specified.

Looking for valuable support once again.

Thanks,
Sam.

If you DID's are consecutive, then enter your lowest range DID number in the 1st field. If you have 10 consecutive DID's, then enter "10" in the 2nd field. Click the 'Add this record' link.

If your DID's are random, them add them one at a time with a range of "1" or how many ever are consecutive. Go to the User and select their DID range in the drop-down.

Thanks alot for your valuable support !!

Well, I see its consecutive, series of DID's Numbers as follows

0208 951 6571
0208 951 6572
0208 951 6573
0208 951 6574
0208 951 6575
0208 951 6576
0208 951 6577
0208 951 6578
0208 951 6579
0208 951 6580

When I click on Edit DID', it gives me tow fields

i entered as follows

516571----->> Entered in first field (which says enter only 6 digits on top)

004402089516571---->>Entered in Second Field

Now, Correct me if im wrong for above.

Also, i believe i have to go to User Extension Click the User and then Select the DID Number and select the above DID's Number to route all incoming of above number on this extension..Im I right

Thanks,
Sam.

Not sure why your DID field says only enter 6-digits above. I am in the U.S. and mine doesn't. In the U.S. you create a local Area Code. Then you enter the Full DID number in the field.

If yours tells you to enter 6-digits, then I would try;
516571----->> Entered in first field (which says enter only 6 digits on top)
10--------->> Entered in the second field, because you listed 10 DID's in your example.

Yes, then go to the User and Select the correct DID range to route call to the extension.

My fields do not say enter 6-digits... It says enter base phone number; +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx
Base Phone Number # Phone Numbers

Im sorry for wrong information.

The Steps as i followed.

To Add the New DID Range, I have Click on Trunk Group -> Selected the Trunk Group -> then Clicked on Edit DID Range and entered as follows

Based Phone Number #Phone Numbers
+442089516571 10

As I seen on top, there is already an +442084382460 under based field and 10 in #phone numbers, already available, may be its been added earlier someone else, when we we was at old office.

However I managed to add / save the above details sucessfully.
Now, i gone to Edit DNIS MAP page,
516571 in Recieved Digits and Tony in Dailed Number and selected the destination Extension # 500
Now, when i have gone to Individual user and click on user ext # 500, and tried to change the DID Range from OLD DID Range (+442084382460 0 of 10 available) to NEW DID Range which Shows +442089516571 ( 10 of 10 Available ) and entered DID number on next input box just last 6 digital 516571, but it says, you have to enter the DID number between the range of +442089516571 and +undefined.

-Thanks,
Sam.

It appears your system is 3-digit extensions. When you go to the USER page and select the new [DID Range] in the drop-down, Right below it should be [DID] number with some digits already pre-populated. My example..

My NPA (Area Code)= 360
My NXX (Prefix)= 786

My [DID Number] is pre-populated with +1360786 and in the box I enter 4 digits (because my system is 4-digit extensions)... This is what I think?

It may be that your system is pre-populated with +02089516 and you only need to put in 3-digits in the [DID Number] field? I recently came from a Nortel PBX environment, so I may be wrong because I only have experience with 4-digits extensions and I try to match my extensions with the last 4-digits of my DID for simplicity.

Thanks for your valuable response !!

It means my above configuration is correctly setup and I have to stick with it without any further change.
But one question, right after entering new DID Range, do i need enter 10 Each DID numbers in DNIS MAP to Map each Extension.
Then later i go to User and select edit range and it might pre-populate Automatically.

Also, if its not pre-populate in did number field , is something wrong i made in configuration or else what DID number i have to place, is only last 3 did of my did should work fine.

Thanks,
Sam.

Normally for user extensions, you do not have to do anything with the DNIS. DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) is generally used for 800 and 900 numbers to route the call to a specified destination. You work with your provider to determine the length of the DNIS digits they will pass you. If you have an 800# 1-800-123-4567 and you want the call to go to an IVR or Autoattendant with an extenion of '500', then you would have your provider pass you DNIS '500' with our 1-800-123-4567.

The benefit is that the DNIS service can pass on touch tones into your IVR; When the carrier passes calls to the automatic call distributors, the dialed number identification service is also passed along so that the automatic call distributor can use this information to route calls. DNIS works by passing on the touch tone digits the caller punches in to a special facility that can read them, display them or incorporate them into call center programming

Can you copy and paste your USER page (Only the section with the DID)

Thanks for your help again.

I will take the snap shot and will provide you soon.

I would like to know, What is the steps to edit the exisiting DID Numbers which are currently maps to existing user extension numbers.

Let me know, if can edit existing, in that i dont need to change any thing, except DID range thats all.
or if possible, you can connect to my system by teamviewer or ammyy.

Thanks,
Sam.
