Hello,

i have a new server to backup with arcserve. the server is a Windows 2000 member server with oracle installed.

now we are using arcserve to backup every server we have. but how can i configure the arcsere Oracle Agent?? and does the backupuser need special permissions?

thnx in regard.

Edit:

the error meesag i have is:

BrightStor ARCserve Backup -- Backup

E8601
Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=dbaora7@ORACLE, EC=1385)
E8601
Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=\\AEDEXORACLE\dbaora7@ORACLE, EC=Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. )

The Manual say to enter the user name and password you specified during installation, and it should be INTERNAL or have INTERNAL equivalent privileges.

well, its installed with account: system but when i tried to connect via de backup manager, it doesn't show anything.

btw arcserve version 9 and oracle version 9.x

Account system??? Try it again and this time follow the Manual.

ehmmm the account name from Oracle is system
or isn't that what you wanted to know?

(btw, i didn't install oracle....)

and with manual do i to follow..???
the manual from oracle or from ArcServe?

Enter the Login ID (Normally System)

Confirm the password
Enter the Machine Name (Database server name)

Enter the Username (backup account)
Enter the password

Confirm the password

Click OK

Click Next

Click OK

It will now install.
