How to configure a User Endpoint in the NRS

I am trying to configure a SIP User Endpoint in a RLS 4.5 NRS.

I have SIP access ports on my system and have built the D-Channel, Route, & Trunks. Bellow is a print out of my PBX programming.

I created a SIP endpoint for my PBX in the NRS using the Node IP address.

I created a User endpoint for my Sip Phone in the NRS.

I have tried X-LITE 3.x and 4.x, Nortel 1120E SIP, 1140E SIP, & a generic SIP phone.

When I use the Soft phones or Generic phone I get this message:

"09/03/2010 08:50:35 LOG0003 tSPReg: spRegistrar (line 695): endpoint [test] not configured"

However, it is configured so I don't understand this message.

When I use a NORTEL 1140/20E with SIP firmware it accually registers. However I cannot place calls to or from it.

In the D-Channel I get "No Route to Destination"

I have found a few posts on this setup but am still at a loss.

Update: I tried registering two Nortel 1100 series phones with the sip firmware. They both register and the NRS shows them registered and gives me their IP addresses.

However, I cannot call between them.

Also, I am seeing the following message on the OAM of the SigServer for both phones:

UPDATE 2: I deplisted the SigServer, MC-32 card, & Call Server with the latest deplist from Nortel. Now the X-Lite will register and can receive calls from the PBX. However, it will not place calls. I used the Dial-plan from the FAQ but still no dice. Any IDEAS?

I saw a post where someone claimed to be using a newer NRS than their system. Anyone else doing that? If I install NRS as standalone can I use a newer version? I am trying to find something in the docs that backs that up.

What are you dialing across it and is that number in the NRS? Example, dialing four digits, 1234, 12 needs to be in the NRS.

4609 is the number I am trying to dial. I added a route to the NRS and verified it from the Tools menu.

Turns out you can use a newer NRS. I installed 5.5 standalone NRS on an old ISP100. It didn't fix my problem though, exactly the same issue with the 5.5 NRS as the 4.5.

In your NRS
DN TYPE -Private level 0 regional (CDP steering code)
SIP URI - cdp.udp

EXT needs to be setup as CPD in your PBX.
A standalone NRS is nice, but it will only enable your signaling server to allow more phones to register to it. A signaling server with a active NRS will only allow 1000 phones to register to it. Without the NRS 5000 phones can register to it.

Also make sure after you make your change you are changing the database, you have to activate and cut-over/committ. Which makes the stand-by database ( one your changing ) to the active. If you do not do this the changes will to take affect.
