Hello do any one have a sample config how i would configure a dual line on a 2600 router. the primary circuit is a 1mb pipe connected to the serial. I need to now configure a second line so it the primary goes down the secondary will come up. The protocol use is OSPF. I have the secondary line connected to FE0/1 on the router and shutdown.

Just wanted to add that this is a dsl connection using a cisco 575 when i connect a pc to the link i only add one of it ip range dns and i am to the internet I now want this to be use for a secondary on the router

Actually there is an easier way to do it. Set up a static route for the 2nd line with a cost of 250. It will not route to that link unless the first link which has a lower "cost" is down and not reachable.

OSPF and policy routing is good way to load balance between the two links if you want to keep them both up and live at the same time.

Give us some more details on how you actually want to implement and we will give a more precise answer.

Yeah, I agree with wybnormal... All you need is a 'floating static route' with a higher administrative distance than the primary(s). Or you could take it up a notch and do some track statements that'll constantly ping your next-hop links.

yes i would like it to come up when the primary go down also the primay is uing ipsec gre tunneling will i be able to set thins up on the secondary also. if you have a sample config pls provide
