I performed a tape drive admin back up before but not backing up to a network folder.
I'm at the "Backup data" form and don't see an option to select a path to a network folder. Is it even possible to do a Admin back up to a network drive?

Thx Kyle.

How do I get to the directories in Emulator?
t the Informix environment. Enter:
# . /opt/informix/bin/setenv

After I enter the SU - root - and the password I get this prompt:
(pricrfl)-(Primary)=#

were you root before you ran that setenv command? I don't recall the prompt you got...

Also, I posted the Linux guide... I'm not sure if you're on that or Solaris...probably different actually

NO I was not on ROOT. I thought the SU- root- was the command to get you to root.

I'm on Solaris..

Depending on the specific version of CMS you may have a variety of options available. On CMS 16/17 I have been using NFS to backup systems to a Linux system (Windows NFS is not supported). You need to understand Linux NFS, Firewalls, and scripting. I build a script to look for the mount prior to the backup and if the system is not mounted then I mount the NFS share. Either the Admin or Maintenance manual covers the actual running of the backup but you will need to build the NFS mount on your own.
