Is there anyway to wipe out all the sales data from the Aloha POS system. Are there any DBF files I should delete to clear out all the reports or do I just need to delete all the dated sub-directories?

Please advise on the quickest and safest way to clearing out all reports and data without changing anything else. Also is there anyway anyone can retrieve the data again?

Thank You!

just highlight the dated subs then hold shift delete, this will bypass the recycle bin. They can only be retreived if someone has a undelete utility, thed have to be pretty computer saavy to figure that out.

Coorsman is correct.
The reports are generated as you request them, so there is really no reports to erase EXCEPT the exported ones, they should be in the rptexport folder.
If you want to keep a copy of the dated subdirectory, copy it to an offsite unit, so if you change your mind you can copy the dated subs back and run your reports.

Should I go into the rptexport folder or just delete the dated subdirectory? Also it will not affect the system operation at all? Thank you both.

the dated sub's should be all you would need to delete. You could delete all the file in the rptexport directory, As log as you don't delete DATA and NEWDATA folders and all your system folders bin bmp etc, you system will run fine.

Coorsman

Thank you again Coorsman. One last question should I worry anything about translog?

the trans.log file only contains thhe current days transactions and is in every dated sub and the dara sub,
