How to check maximum number of processes?

Hi,

I am working on HP-UNIX B.11.11 9000/889.Can any body tell me how to check the maximum number of processes and the muximum number of child processes per user, and how to modify it?

run sam - kernal parameter and maxproc, maxusr are the value that you may be looking for

Thanks, but unfortunatly I do not have right to run sam, is there another way to get the information?

/usr/sbin/kmtune -l

do you have access to the /stand/ directory?
If so you may have access to the file used to compile the kernel...
you can also use sysdef or sysconf to get the info.
