how to check/change clock

hi,

can somebody tell me how to check / change the:
system clock
and system hardware clock.

one uses date,
the other I have no idea on what to check or to look.

From IBM AIX Command line:
Type "smitty" from the command line.
select "System Environments".
select "Change / Show Date and Time".
-----------------------------------------
Change / Show Day and Time

Type or select values in entry fields.
Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

YEAR (00-99)
[03] #
MONTH (01-12) [06] #
DAY (1-31) [25] #
HOUR (00-23) [19] #
MINUTES (00-59) [21] #
SECONDS (00-59) [17] #


F1=Help F2=Refresh F3=Cancel F4=List
F5=Reset F6=Command F7=Edit F8=Image

can you tell me if this will change the system clock or the hardware clock ?. do you know how long takes for them to sync ?

antonio, I'm not sure what the difference is between the system clock and the hardware clock.
