I am trying to set the time for my current shell. I can forward time by 24 hours, but going back by 24 hours is not working?

You can do this just for the current shell? How are you doing that then? Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

Guys, I forgot to mention that I am trying this on HP-UX. 11.00. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Mike, assuming that your TZ value is EST5EDT, run "export TZ=EST-19EDT" . This will reverse the time by 24 hrs.
