Hello-

I've upgraded my switch firmware from IPBase to IPSevices. The download works well but upon boot-up, it will look for the old IOS first and display this error:

Error loading "flash:/c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE5/c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE5.
bin"

It will still load using the new IOS, but is there a way to edit the loading process so that it will no longer look for the old IOS?

Thanks in advance.

I suspect you upgraded the IOS with the just .bin file and copied this to the root of the flash? I always use the .tar fail and let the upgrade process do its thing using the 'archive' command. If you type 'show boot' I expect it shows the path and filename of the error you are seeing. You can manually set the boot string with the command 'boot system flash:/ios-image.bin' replacing 'ios-image.bin' for the file you copied to flash.

Thanks Andy. The "boot system" command allows me to change the location of the new IOS.

You're right, I simply copy the .bin file direct to the flash root directory and delete the old IOS folder using the /f /r.

The better way to upgrade is using the .tar file and the 'archive download-sw' command. This will upgrade the IOS and HTML files and also set the boot string for you. If you have a stack of 3750's it will also upgrade each member of the stack with the one command.
